BED bar, club restaurant in Bangkok is an experience like no other. Housed inside a custom-designed building on a huge cleared parking lot in Bangkok, BED resembles nothing so much as a 1950s spaceship, complete with walkway up to the entry hatch.
On entering the restaurant/lounge, you are immediately struck by….the whiteness. Everything in the multilevel room is brilliantly, spotlessly bright white: the hip-height beds on which everyone lounges, the staff costumes, the walls, floor, stairway to the upper level…It’s like being in a combination laboratory, flotation tank and, well, BED.

Inspired by Amsterdam’s Supperclub, BED is somehow even more entrancing and impressive for being located in beautiful, sticky, chaotic Bangkok instead of down a dodgy sidestreet in Amsterdam. Pretty waitresses bring food and drinks as you lounge like a Caesar on the beds: cuisine is by award-winning American chef Dan Ivarie, and cocktails and music are created by Western and Western-trained expert mixologists and DJs. In the restaurant/lounge the music is chill-out with fascinating lightshows and occasional art installations. Walking across the hall to the bar is a little different. Here the décor more closely resembles a modern lounge: warm reds and browns, a bar, dancefloor and tables. Here is where the DJ cranks the music, because, hey, you can only lounge around for so long until you get the urge to merge, right? Cocktails in both the lounge and the bar are excellent, comprising classics and modern classics made with decent liquors and fresh juices.
Together with other great Bangkok businesses such as the Q Bar, BED Supperclub has created a stylish, fun place to eat, drink and party for all of us who’ve hung up our backpacks and tents, but who still hold a candle for the Land of Smiles. Forget about The Beach: go to BED instead.
